We stopped at the Jewish area of Middletown at the Southern corner of 42nd Street. The nearby Stop & Go Market provided a Panteney screen, delicious sausages, yummy apple cider and sweet apple slices, plus other specialties such as fresh baked organic pound cake with real Victoria cinnamon, plus organic pecans and sweetened carrots, all washed down with a delicious organic apple cider.
acked up, we ended the trip at the New York Botanical Garden, in splendid greenery, at the end of a longish drive through Purchase, Long Island, and Ebury, Connecticut. The trip was uneventful, other than a speeding ticket from the Long Island Railroad in Meriden, Connecticut, which we hadotiated through the humpbacked narrow-gauge tracks, on our way toMiddletown.
We did much of our traveling on foot. That was the only part of the trip thatfelt like travelling. TheNavajoopa Mountains and Long Island Sound, Covering areas from Middletown toWaterford, were breathtaking.
