The Best of Seattle’s Kid Style Culture
If you have little ones in tow, you might find yourself in the environs of Seattle. That’s exactly why you come to this place, of all places. But even if you are not here to enjoy the scenery, you are likely to be using Seattle’s residents as a reason to stay, right? I mean, come on, they have restaurants, museums, malls, sporting events and more, not to mention excellent nightlife. However, there is more to this city than meets the eye. To get a true feeling for it, especially on this side of town, you have to break out of your Seattle routine and discover the kid’s scene. If you do this, you will discover a lifestyle that is very distinctly different from the rest of the city. One that, with its focus on education and family, lends itself particularly well to families with younger children. Growing up in Seattle in the 60’s and 70’s, our family was very much center stage. We had friends and meals with neighbors and let’s just say, life was pretty easy. However, this doesn’t mean that Seattle is devoid of support services for the youth. On the contrary, it is very much a younger persons’ place. That’s not to say that you won’t find people who are older, just that there is a lot more to this center of activity. Still, the more younger kids you attract the better. The Children’s Museum, for example, offers a hands-on educational experience with a lot of fun. Your kids can explore and learn from your second home. The Seattle Aquarium is a favorite with the kids. Not only do they get to see animals in an entirely different setting, they can also learn about marine life. It is no secret, however, that Seattle is a great place to be for kids in general. Let’s face it. We’re not all outdoorsy, and media concentrations have us focusing on our laptops and PlayStations. Let’s face it, that’s part of the experience. Still, it is true that many parents appreciate the outdoors and being outdoorsy. And there’s no reason why you can’t find a place that offers the best of both worlds and an atmosphere that is as closely linked to the outdoors as Seattle is. ifle and outdoor activities are enjoyable in a lot of places. For many, they are the experience of life. It is the missing link that allows the majority of us to survive in the here and now. Whether your lifestyle is wet, dry, uplifting or serene, there are places that will do what you want, a little of both and something in between. Then again, maybe you prefer a serene environment. Maybe you were born to be more in the mud. Many of the islands in the Galapagos are perfect for you. The jungle can provide you with what you need and offer you experiences that can be quite humbling. Needless to say, the underwater world isn’t for everyone. Many people simply don’t understand how such a thing can exist in our world. If seeing the diversity of plant and animal life terrifies you, perhaps sea world is more your style. You can spend days lounging in a swimsuit at sea world and never know it’s a world away. It doesn’t really matter what your lifestyle, there is something for everyone in or close to the water. On the water you can be a jetsetter, a scuba diver, an painter, chef, warrior, ski genius, surfer and many other activities. Whatever your preference, there is a place for you. With high-speed trains comes high-speed travel. To top it off, those who don’t want to or don’t have the money to fly can hop on a train. Once you hop on board a train, you will be in a whole other world. All aboard Amtrak is known to be the most efficient way to travel from coast to coast. If you need to get around or visit friends and family, Amtrak can get you there quickly and inexpensively. Choosing Amtrak tickets is easy. They can be purchased online or at a station. They can be booked as last minute or ahead of time. There are economical packages available as well.
