Starcraft 2 Strategy – Macroing Your Way to the Win
Another way to look at microing is by looking at your APM. Many say that you need to have huge APM to be good at Starcraft 2, but on the other hand, it can be easy to watch someone stream 30 APM and assume they are not using any APM. สล็อตเว็บตรง
While it is true that you need to have a lot of APM to compete with the high end players on the ladder, there is a lot of players on the lower end that have APM’s that are right over 2.0 to exceeding 300. In this article I will go over what APM stands for and how important it is in Starcraft 2.
First of all, what is APM and why is it so important?
APM stands foractions per minute. While some players prefer to use the term “actions per game”, this refers to actions per minute over the course of a game. Let’s take a look at an example to give you an idea of what I am talking about.
In a game of Starcraft 2, you can have the option to press “E” every minute to gather minerals. However, if you were to press “E” every 15 seconds to gather gases, you would waste 45 seconds of your time.
This rule holds true all the time. The reason is because every time you press “E”, you are generating a click on the map. Whether you are scv, reaper, observer, or warrior, you are generating a click on the mineral line or the gas geyser.
Since these are quick on your resources, keybind them. You can do this on many units as long as you keybind the building or units to a button. Starcraft 2 Strategy
Now, the best way to see if you are really doing your best is to watch your own replays against each race. This is because some players are simply better at this than others. Once you begin to see yourself improve, then you can increase your APM and learn to see the bigger picture. Starcraft 2 Strategy
Every race in Starcraft 2 has a counter unit to a unit that your enemy raids you with. If you see your opponent putting up aport in your base, quickly put up a barracks or gateway. Starcraft 2 Strategy
Stopping a rush or being unprepared for one is generally what any good Terran player tries to do. If you see your enemy putting up a rush with medivacs, it is a sign that he is ready to drop his units.Bringing in a few early stalkers will help mitigate this quite easily unless you have quite a few marines or marauders.
A few key things to remember is that you should have a good third person view of the battle. You should be able to see what your opponent is doing and be able to scout his base.
If you are Terran, put down a first depot at 9 supply and send a worker to a scout yours. If you are Protoss or Zerg, scout your opponent’s base to give you a sense of what he is going for.
When you are scouting, use your Command Center and Preparing Marines to observe the opponent’s strategy. Supply them and Marauders if you see that it is mainly ground units. If it is air units, use Vikings and constantly train them. If you see that it is minerals and not a build order, just check if there is a problem with your economy. If you are doing fine, this is a sign that the opponent is expanding or has another strategy.
Note:When you move your SCV into your opponent’s base, be sure to move it into the path of the SCV’s shot. If you are Zerg, it is best to place your drones on overlord’s until you notice a hatch.
Terran Strategy Vs. Protoss
Terran techs extremely well against Protoss. So your best bet is to wall off your base and build barracks and missile turrets to guard your mineral line. Use a combination of marines/marabies and Medivacs to keep the Protoss units out. The key to this plan is to not let your wall get destroyed.
If you are facing Immortals, you should stay away from making units. The best way to beat them is to attack them with your infantry. 3 Medivacs will go to waste if they go for the Immortal.
Buy time and then start building up your infantry. The best units to have are marines, marauders, and medivacs. Feel free to go for other units later. 7MM can be useful to.
Protoss Strategy Vs. Zerg
If you are facing a speed zerg player, you will want to stay away from making units early. Use your advanced infantry and air units to defeat them. Generally, stay away from makingatics because if they rock you early, you will lose the match.
